Volunteer Opportunity Planner

Compare service roles, confirm host requirements and record completed service honestly.

One cause, a realistic time commitment and a host page to inspect.

Learn

Build on what you can show.

Begin with the host’s actual need and the time and skills you can reliably offer. A discovery page helps you find roles; it does not confirm a particular place, shift or acceptance.

Ask about the task, location, orientation, screening, accessibility, age rules and any costs. A family or group should confirm the host’s rules before inviting participants. For required service, ask both the host and the receiving institution what approval and documentation are needed.

Keep a planned commitment separate from work actually performed. After service, record the date, task, actual hours, observed result and any host confirmation. Keep private participant details out of a public reflection.

Worked example and review

Use the fictional example to inspect the fields and export formats.

The example records a possible pathway, not a reservation or completed shift. The service log is intentionally empty.

Apply

Make your working record.

Compare two roles. Identify the unresolved fit questions, choose one next action and keep the service log empty until service occurs.

Work privately in this tab. Download a copy before leaving; refreshing clears unsaved entries. This tool sends no form entries to the District or a third-party AI service. Use service labels and non-sensitive examples where possible.

Roles to investigate · start here

Use the host’s own current role or discovery page.

Completed service log

Add a record only for service actually performed. A self-entered log is not host-certified proof.

Reflection and next action

What commitment can you reliably keep, and what must the host confirm first?

Reflection and next action

Keep an editable copy.

Text is useful for reading and editing; CSV opens as a field log; JSON can reopen this workspace later.

Show evidence / Reflect

Review the work, then choose a next step.

  • Each role has an official host source and a review date.
  • The fit review records time, skills and participation requirements.
  • Planned service is distinct from completed hours and host confirmation.

Reflect: What commitment can you reliably keep, and what must the host confirm first?

Record your observation and next action in the reflection fields above. Estimated activity time and examples have not been independently validated with learners.
